Ghost in the Machine
Aarhus / Denmark
The point of this half-semester boot-camp was to get acquainted with several techniques from capturing reality to recreating it. As a team, we used regular cameras along with our phones’ cameras to capture a damp wall on the Aarhus School of Architecture Campus. Then we used 3DF Zypher and Photoscan (photogrammetry software) to recreate the condition of the damped wall. The question suddenly got into our mind was how we can amplify the effect of moisture and time within a generative system. As the course description, we were to use CNC milling to create out design and concrete casting for the final production. So, a small project evolved as a great learning session of learning to work with Alphacam, CNC 5-axis machine, and concrete mixing.
